If you want a lot if food this is the place to go. The barbeque tastes like it was cooked in an oven and not on a pit or in a smoker. The side dishes all come out of cans or bags and the taste reflects it. The service was great and the rolls with honey were delicious.
My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak and he was quite happy. Everything tastes like home and super good. My favorite part are the dinner rolls and the pads of butter. Hot and fluffy. Yum.
I ordered the chopped beef sandwich but realistically, I love everything. Mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, cobbler, and more!
A cafeteria with cafeteria quality food. Nothing wrong with it but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. The BBQ is just OK. The rolls were a bit of a disappointment. The cobbler was delicious, especially the apple. And the potato salad was a surprising stand out item. There was a long line when I arrived on a Sunday afternoon. I'm sorry I waited it out.
This is the place to go for the best BBQ in Texas. They have a excellent chicken fried steak that melts in your mouth. I have been eating there on my trips there for over 30 years.
The atmosphere is great too. Everyone is hanging out enjoying their family. Friendly staff, good service. Awesome.
We always enjoy eating at Underwoods. Paul and his crew do a great job! Their fresh hot rolls that are brought to the table are hard to beat.
